SFCV STILL AMBIVALENT ABOUT MONTEREY BAY
EDITOR MICHAEL ZWIEBACH at San Francisco Classical Voice, an important online classical music service, has responded to our offer to cover Monterey Bay music for them this way: “After consulting with my colleagues, we’ve decided that we would rather commission than share content, which has long been SFCV policy. Thank you for thinking of us, but we can’t take you up on your offer.” SFCV hasn’t found anyone on this side of the Santa Cruz Mountains to satisfy their criteria. In the past, I was a critic over a span of many years for SFCV under its founder, Robert Commanday. So, of course, I am boundlessly reassured by Zwiebach’s addendum, “You are obviously qualified as a music critic.” SM
