JAZZ CRITIC NAT HENTOFF DEAD AT 91

hentoffWROTE WEEKLY COLUMN for The Village Voice starting in 1958. Also a fierce defender of Civil Liberties. As one colleague described Hentoff: “He challenges icons and ideas that are treasured in the community he lives in. He puts on his skunk suit and heads off to the garden party, week after week, again and again.” The Washington Post called him “a pain in the ass.” We could use his likes now.
